Definition of branding

Branding is the marketing practice of creating a name, symbol or design that identifies and differentiates a product from other products.

Difference between brand and branding

Brand is your companies overall impression and perception you present to your clients or customers, your brand describes who you are and what you do by using visual identity, verbal dialog and tone of actions.

Branding is positioning your company or product in the market, devising brand strategy, creating your name. Branding is also a way to expand your company and set a reputation and standards to consumers.

Identification of the brand

Apple has many products like the IPad, IMac, MacBook, IPod, Apple TV and their most recognisable product the IPhone. Apple also has downloadable services like the Icloud, Apple Pay, App Store, Itunes Store, IOS and many more.

Explain the importance and benefits of branding

Apple appeals to me because of their simplicity as well as having an appealing look and feel to them. Apples features, such as the one-button draws me in because it makes me wonder how can you work a phone with only one button or the ability to pay with your fingertips. Apple made me want to buy an iPhone due to its reliability from hearing from other consumers. Also, just the trend of owning an iPhone made me want to purchase one.

Apple catches consumers through their advertisement, making you feel as if this advert is meant for your eyes-only. Apple like to empathise on “changing the world” and “believe’ gives the consumer an impression that by owning a apple product you can do the

Apple has created a massive dent in the market. They created a lifestyle brand. Apple is widely considered as the #1 innovative company in the world. The company delivers consumers with a succession of presents – great software in fabulous hardware in beautiful packaging. Michael Lopp, senior engineering manager quotes “really good ideas wrapped up in other really good ideas”.

I have done some research on how apple connects with its customers:

• Posting tips on their social media account along with images and videos to help customers unlock their devices full potential. By doing this it allows customers to appreciate their devices more and keeps them engaged with the account wanting more tips.

• Constantly answering customer questions through their account, by simply doing this it makes it quick and convenient instead of visiting a store or a phone call. All you have to do is tweet your concern or problem and apple are on hand to help instantly. Simple, quick and easy.

• Valuing customer feedback is important because this helps to build long lasting relationships with their customers. It indicates that they are not just about themselves but they truly do care about their
