Acceptance presents itself in various forms. These can be in the form of paying for goods and services, or being let into a particular group, to attaining a dream job. Acceptance is graduating high school, attending college and eventually attaining a dream job. It is also being a part of a group or particular social setting. If a person wanted to be a part of a motorcycle club they would have to own a motorcycle. The consumer part comes in when competing within a group to continue being a part of the group and having friendly competition. This would not be the case if no one participated keeping up with the neighbors. This drives acceptance from a unique angle, one that relies on possessions to be a part of a particular group. Without whatever the particular item is, a person needs to have it in order to be accepted.
