Being A Successful High School Student

School pushes us and makes us go through tremendous amounts of work. All through the school year we are constantly put through paper after paper and assignment after assignment. That is just what high school is though, it teaches us lessons we could not learn anywhere else. In Mr. McGee’s class especially pushes us because of his overload of work that we are given. Still his class prepares you for the next level of education in college. Throughout high school there have been three ways to continue to improve and check my progress during my time as a high school student, these are track my current level of success, knowing my strengths and weaknesses, and creating goals, lastly focusing on my progress in the future.

To start this process analyze where you are right now, see the good and especially the bad. Being able to see and then correct your mistakes and flaws is the mark of an intelligent mind. If you bad at reading, acknowledge that and focus on it. Make a goal to read a book every month or two and you will notice an increase in your ability to read efficiently. Maybe writing is a weakness, try to write timed essays more often, the best way to get better at something is to practice what you want to be better at. If you set your goals way higher than anyone else and fall just short of reaching them, your failure will still be better that most others success. They must always be conscientious of their grades and performance. This is what will carry them successful through to the next level, and will give them a successful work ethic. Setting goals and learning to reach them will cause you to excel above and beyond, this will drive you to the greatest student you can be. What you do now will cause your future to either be great or good, focus on it because the future is coming, faster than you can imagine, don’t let the chances you have now to improve that future slip away.
