Abigail Lies Why would you lie to make someone else’s life worse to make yours better? How stuck up can a person be. In The Crucible, Abigail Williams does this several times. It all started when they’re all in the forest and then again with John Proctor. When Parris first finds out about the girls in the forest and sees them, Abigail lies and tells them that Tituba told them to do all of it and it’s all her fault. The girls were all doing wrong things; dancing, naked, and Abigail was the one that drank the chicken blood. Abigail lies so many times throughout the book.
