Recently, I was asked to write a paper on AFLAC and talk about the following questions. How some viewers don’t like the AFLAC ads and can an ad still accomplish its intended purposes if people find it annoying? The AFLAC campaign is more than four years old. In your opinion, will the campaign stay effective for the foreseeable future? And finally, what makes AFLAC ads so effective? Is it something more than their entertainment value? The commercials were a risk, humor in advertising doesn’t always appeal to people who want a more serious tone, but Dan Amos ventured forward. He tested his audiences and they loved the duck commercials and rated them the most memorable. Thus, the duck was born, even though some viewers don’t like the AFLAC ads. I personally find this statement rather amusing. Is it because they don’t know what AFLAC is, or because they think that selling any kind of insurance should be of a more serious tone. Or could it be that they find them annoying and stupid, I personally find them cute, informative and intriguing enough to find out more about the company and what it may or may not have to offer. As far as what makes the Aflac ads so effective, I think it is because they attract a reader, in this case a viewer to their advertisement, they are show interest and at the same time they show the consumer how Aflac can help them when they are injured or need secondary help. This brings me to why Aflac ads are more than entertainment, for years Aflac has dedicated themselves to serving the immediate needs of their customers by providing cash benefits to help with expenses not covered by primary health care
