As an administrator, sustaining a school culture is one of my most critical tasks. The culture of the school is one of the determining factors as to whether students, parents, and staff feel comfortable, encouraged, and welcomed enough to succeed. Collaboration amongst all parties involved takes place on a regular basis. Anytime there is a shared decision to be made, a brainstorming session will take place before hand to make sure all ideas are considered. Collaboration cannot take place without clear communication. Therefore, communication is high on the list of priorities. Communication from myself as the administrator comes in many forms, depending on who it is with. Communication and collaboration with students takes place over daily announcements, visits to the classroom, one on one discussions, and surveys. During this time, teachers will be given guidance and resources to integrate technology into daily learning. As for the students, once a week students will attend a technology class, instructed by a certified teacher specializing in technology. This call will focus on keyboarding skills, applying Google Docs in the classroom, as well as access to online educational games and applications. During the best practices sharing meeting taking place monthly, teachers will be asked to share ideas regarding integration of technology in the classrooms. During quarterly meetings with each teacher, when we are discussing goals, the technology goal will be discussed at length to assess the teachers comfort level with technology. Building coaches will make sure this is a focus with teachers that have not reached that level of comfort with utilizing technology in the classroom. All assessment results will be kept in a digital format for ease of sharing and saving. Teachers will be instructed in the use of these assessment saving programs. Students and parents will also have access to their individual assessment results.     I would begin the professional development with different techniques that are used by veteran teachers in their classroom; for instance, proximity, seating charts, redirection, and classroom engagement techniques. These are all techniques that new teachers learn about in their education classes, but don’t use a lot when they are going through their classes and student teaching.
