An ideal location for a daycare would be centrally located in a town. Somewhere that is close to many businesses that may have parents that would use your services. Also, being close to emergency rescue like a fire department or police department would be a plus. Although, some emergencies can also be avoided by having different security and maintenance measures in place. One way to keep the building, staff and children safe would be checking identification before you allow anyone in the buildings so that you can account for any strangers that may try to take advantage of children being around . Also, keeping security cameras on at all times is a great idea so that you can monitor staff and children. In case of a natural disasters, such as a fire or tornado, you should have all of the staff trained to handle the children and have an evacuation plan in place. You should continuously have fire safety lessons, tornado drills and talks with the staff and children so that everyone knows how to be prepared. Furthermore, routinely checking the maintenance and upkeep of the building can help avoid some disasters. I would first draw hop scotch boxes in different colors and have the children take turns hoping on each color. Then I would number them and have them hop on the different numbers.
