Personal Narrative: My Quality World Model

Improved Essays
Very often we have fantasies of how we believe our quality world should look like. I would be lying if I said I never daydreamed over what my life would look like in the near future. Even though all I can ever imagine is being rich and famous, it never crossed my mind how I would get to that point. After going over chapter 1 in my Learning Frameworks class I began to consider the types Quality World Model Professor Waters showed us; What types of relationships will I have; What will my job be; What will my beliefs be; and What types of service will I engage in? After heavily reflecting on the lesson over chapter one I decided that in my quality world the relationships I would like to have will be to hang around with only positive people. I would create stronger friendships with only those people that would like to see me succeed and support the decisions I decide to make. I believe that this is definitely the only way to become successful in today’s World. I would make sure to unfriend any of the people trying to drag me down and keep out of my life those people that are just secretly waiting for me to fall. In my opinion I do not believe …show more content…
I am very involved in my community and I have volunteered in so many places I have lost count. I would love to take on more task today, but the only barrier that prevents me is money. I believe volunteering is a great way to give back to the community. And I do it because I want to make my city a better place. However, I also think we need to give back to those that are even less fortunate than us. I have signed to give over ten organizations money every month, organizations like St. Jude, Salvation Army, American Red Cross, The SPCA, The WWF, The EEI, KERA, BCF . . . and I would love to give to many others but my financial situation will not let me. Nevertheless, I know these are things I can do when I am living in My Quality

My experiences over the last six years living in NYC have shaped me into the approachable and compassionate person I am today. I have been immersed in a melting pot with many different culturally and economically diverse populations. These unique experiences have broadened my horizons and allowed me to gain valuable communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. I searched out opportunities to give back and help the people in my community both in volunteering in hospitals, educating high school students, and interning in private practices. I even traveled with the organization Medlife, setting up a medical clinic to provide basic medical care and education to people in the poor and underserved communities surrounding Lima, Peru.…

By chance I was born into a family that has been, for the majority of the time, without financial burdens. I have been able to live in a house, go to bed with a full stomach, and get an education of choice. To the majority of people this sounds like a normal life, but for others it will continue to be a dream. Some students in our community are living in shelters, eating the two meals that are provided by their schools; and that is only if they are able to attend school. By volunteering I am able to give new opportunities to those who need them, whether it is working in a soup kitchen/food drive, helping to build homes for those who have lost their own, or tutoring after school.…

When I grow up, I want to change the world! Changing the world one day would make me feel really good. Three ways I would change the world are: make sure everyone has a shelter to live in; help more lost, sick, and hurt animals, and make sure no one is hungry. I would like to help homeless people have a nice place to stay. When I’m driving downtown I see a lot of homeless people on the streets; dirty, and sad.…

There is no comment to explain to me of how dependent I am on these upcoming moments for the team, so don’t make it any worse. To start off and to have the power to set the tone of the whole inning.…

“Congratulations!!” read one post on a friend’s Facebook wall, the day after she landed an office job in her field. “So amazing!” read another. “Are you ready for your big-girl job?” asked a third well-wisher, accompanied by a GIF of Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope. “I can’t believe I finally have a real job” was the text she sent me a few days later, from the comfort of her desk, where she had been hired to do operations work for an organization she had once, a few years prior, interned for.…

Imagine living in a fantasy world where everything is pitch perfect the way you wanted to be, but then, you wake up to the harsh reality to feel trapped and animated on the inside. This is how I first view my life story for the last three years. At first, I never thought this class would help me realize who I am nor what I have to value until eight weeks ago. To start off, I have looked at my life in a new light and sees how I should understand others before I judge them, as well as, to understand the importance of morals and values. Everyone has their own values and morals that they believe in to determine what is right and wrong in life, so have I. Not everyone can agree to the same stuff about how one’s should live our life, but instead learn from our value and believe to make our own story in our life.…

Model Personal Narrative I found out that my life was about to change and definitely not for the better. My school was closing, and beginning in September, I would be going to P.S. 278. That may not sound so awful, but here’s the thing—that’s where Clarice Sullivan was going to school, and Clarice Sullivan was troubel! Clarice had hounded me for years taunting me about every little thing. It was a little over a year ago that she had moved across town and started going to P.S. 278.…

There are many different ways in order to give back to the community. A few of these ways include money, time and attitude. Money is, of course, essential to living, therefore a huge amount of money would definitely be helpful but not always necessary. One person does not need to give thousands of dollars to make a difference because someone else can give one dollar and still impact the community. It should be an effort from everyone in the community to give back that way one person doesn 't have to give everything.…

An elderly woman who got to take part in a high school community service project states, “Many think that volunteering is all about what you give. But what catches you by surprise is how much you receive in return.” This demonstrates why many people do not feel that they should give back because they do not believe the benefits that they can get from it as well. Consequently, when creating that feeling of happiness and satisfaction in someone else’s life, it comes back to the person creating it. Volunteering to help someone get tutored, help the handicapped, involve themselves with a program like Meals on Wheels, certain environmental work, etc., not only does one gain from that, but one’s community has been helped because of them.…

To develop a statement about that incorporates all the aspects of my personal moral and ethical code I had to reflect back on my life, my decisions, actions and the manner in which I was raised. I have always know what I should do but now I can look back and label my choices and understand why I made the decisions I did. My statement is this I subscribe the rule of Hard Universalism, the theory of psychological egoism and because we are always selfish I believe utilitarianism represents the base desires of personhood. Everyone believes their desire is for the greater good and the right choice because they are selfish, these theories go hand in hand and dictate many of the actions of people in this world as well as the cravings we strive to rise above.…
