I firmly believe that parents and teachers should encourage their kids, but that they should never tolerate bad behavior. When you refuse to do your work or pretend that you don’t know what you’re doing, you might think that it’s funny or harmless. The truth is, you’re wasting the money and time of adults who care about your success. Not only that, but you’re sucking up that precious time away from other students who actually care about doing well.
In the end, being a good student isn’t the most important thing in the world. But what is most definitely important is pushing yourself to do the best you can, both in school and in everyday life.
