Of course, being able to apply yourself in school also reflects well on your ability to apply yourself at work, and performing well in your academics can help your future career. I firmly believe that parents and teachers should encourage their kids, but that they should never tolerate bad behavior. When you refuse to do your work or pretend that you don’t know what you’re doing, you might think that it’s funny or harmless. The truth is, you’re wasting the money and time of adults who care about your success.
