The Importance Of A College Education

Improved Essays
Why is a college education important? It opens many doors and provides many advantages and opportunities. Thus a college education to me holds the key to a successful career and a brighter future. Not only is Rutgers is close to home and comforting, Generally speaking the Newark campus is ranked third in New Jersey. Many people question whether college is really worth the money or the time. However, the reasons to invest in higher education extend past just the financial. Another attraction I have towards this school include the historical graduates; Mario Batali, Jessica Valenti, Zaid Shakur, James O’keefe, etc. The list is virtually endless. People who question if college won’t be beneficial to them, don’t have clarity, I believe without …show more content…

He was an unrelenting competitor, an underdog, who had a great and very vibrant personality, these words are the summary of why you should emulate someone. Survive and Advance his documentary something my basketball coach made us watch in the beginning of each season. This inspiring documentary made me realize the character of an underdog. I feel as if he is one of my most prominent mentors. His views and philosophies about life in general have resonated with me mentally and spiritually, him and my mother honestly have made me realize what I want to do in life and how I can enjoy doing it. I don’t know where I would be where I am today without these experiences, hopefully I can be as talented and have as much prowess as these great people who came before …show more content…
There is something that is very respectful in finding a way to make great strides with your mind, it reminds me of my mother who is actually a graduate of the original University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey (UMDNJ), and who I believe has made her own success in the nursing field, as well as still going to school to obtain a higher degree of education. It is a constant reminder that I come from great heights and I can be as great or even better. Moreover, I know that a Rutgers degree is recommended and encouraged; it is nationally and globally an advantage in the job/labor market. I know that the countless lessons that I learned in the classroom will inevitably help me meet the challenges ahead in life, as well as help me earn a seat at the Conference room table. The various people that I mentioned are a part of the bigger reason, why I want to go to Rutgers. This institution could do what they did to them, to me respectively. In Conclusion, I plan to leave a good footprint at Rutgers when I graduate. I plan on having my influence running in multiple fields, but the main plan I have for myself is to create an IT Firm, which creates universal programs and software’s. I know that a Rutgers education will essentially enable me to achieve these goals and other life’s

I have enjoyed my time at Frostburg State University and with hard work I have been able to make the dean’s list and be accepted in the Honors program during the first semester of my freshman year. I hope to continue to work even harder during the second semester and throughout my school career.
