Personal Essay: The Importance Of Receiving A University Degree

Brown hair and brown eyes look back at me every morning as I get ready for school. But is that all that there is, or should I see more beneath the surface? In this essay I will analyze the importance of a college degree to myself personally, professionally, what I will need to do in order to be successful, and the ways I will be able to meet my academic and personal goals. A degree from a university is, to me personally, a sense of security. While a university degree will take a lot of dedication, time, hard work, and money, it will provide me with a sense of security for my future. Putting all of the time and effort into receiving a degree from a university will help me secure a future job. Receiving a university degree will be the first step in beginning to accomplish all over my long term goals. A degree is the first intermediate length goal I will have to accomplish in order to accomplish more of my long term life goals. My goal for college is to maintain an A average, and to keep ahead on my assignments instead of falling behind in them. If I keep ahead on my assignments and utilize my time to do assignments wisely, I will have minimal stress over assignment due dates. Having little stress over assignment due dates and opening up more time to study will allow me to be able to maintain the A average that I would like. Maintaining this A average will allow me to come across to future employers as dedicated and hard working. Maintaining the A average will act as a gateway for me to obtain a well-paying job. If I have a well-paying job, then I will be able to afford college more easily, as well as become more financially independent and stable.
