For this project I chose to do it on a close friend of mine. Her name is Khaliyah. We have known each other for three years and talk almost every week. I gathered information for this project from her and friends we share. She has been through a lot in her life and I think she can really benefit from this project. She has a disability and is questioning a lot of things. She wonders if she will ever get to live out her dreams. She is a strong person and I want to show her that she is and that she can accomplish anything she puts her mind to. For the visual aspect of this project I will present her I a book form. This book will describe her, who she is, what she likes and dislike, her goals and ambition, etc. Khaliyah was born and raised in …show more content…
She does not let her disability get in the way of anything. She is a good writer and very talented. She is also friendly and loving. She has a good heart and care deeply for others. She is also positive and ambitious. She loves listening to music and artistic as well. She writes beautiful poems and draws well. Khaliyah likes making friends and going out to eat. She likes to dance and read. She also displays difficulty explain herself clearly at times. She has challenges when it comes to dating. Because of her disability she does not feel acceptable to men. So she prefers to date online. She also has trouble accepting advice she does not agree with and does not like discussing things about her family. Khaliyah need’s help with getting her SSD benefits in her names. She needs assistance with asserting her independence. She needs her money to provide herself. As of right now her mother is her payee for her SSD benefits and will not give Khaliyah the money (any of it). She needs to stand up to her mother and prove to her that she can take care of herself. Once she shows her mother and other family members that she can, she can start living her life the way she wants. Khaliyah also needs counseling and maybe some education for her family about her
