Poor Communication Skills

My current skills as a student entering college lack readiness for a career in the field of marketing. However, I believe I posses good communication skills as I am fluent in both English and Spanish. Being fluent in multiple languages gives me the opportunity to speak and write appropriately to the audience I am trying to reach. I hope to improve and perfect these skills, as well as develop new ones through my time at St. Edward’s to better prepare me for the field of marketing. These include good communication skills, writing skills, and presentation skills all while being innovative and creative. Professor Mohamed strongly believes the most important skill in this profession is writing, which helps convey your message to your audience. When observing Professor Mohamed in his Principles of Marketing class, I noticed how well he helped develop these skills within his students. During his class he assigns a discussion question for the entire class. The students get together and communicate ideas in regards to the assignment, helping develop their communication skills. He then has his students write out their responses using evidence to support their claim, which helps them develop their writing skills. Finally, he goes around the classroom and has the students present their response, helping them with their presentation
