I Want To Be A President At A Historically Black College

I have made up in my mind that whatever career path I choose I would like for it to be one that is a service people and help to contribute to other growth and success. Also, I would like for my career choice to be one that allows me live a purposeful life and make a lot of money to afford my life style. It is not about money I would like to live a comfortable lifestyle. If I’m not able to receive any of the things I desire I would like to at least in work environment that is comfortable to not damaging to my mental health. There are many individuals who got to work every day to a high stress work environment, and it affects them emotionally and mentally. I know that I will take an awful amount of strength patience and endurance to accomplish a task so big. I know that having this job is going to be one that require a lot from me but it will be easy for my to do because in the position to help young individuals that have and to go through the same struggles really gives me the drive to make things better for them. Being the President at a historically black college and university (HBCU) comes with a lot of responsibility most of these college have many finical hardships and list of other problems. I would like to step in help to contribute to the success of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. According to the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities “There are only 101 HBCU that are still around from the 1930 where they started with 121” ( "White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities"., 2008). So this says that there is very little opportunity to get the chance for president in the HBCU arena. The pay for HBCU presidents salaries are known be below the national median for public university and presidents by 38 percent (Hbcumoney, 2014). The salary range is between 300,000 to 500,000 dollars a year that is actually significantly lower than other colleges and universities. To become a college president you have to have a very extensive resume with the majority of the back ground being in higher education you have to understand how the college is supposed to run you have you will also need a strong back ground in leadership and extensive back ground in academic administration. The job is extremely time consuming and be somewhat overwhelming but with the money that you make it will surely give you a lot of
