Register to read the introduction… This puts pressure on me to do the best I can to make them happy and most importantly make me happy to have a better life. Though I did not push myself to my fullest potential in my youth as I took things for granted and did not make too many people happy including myself. I am about to go through a postgraduate year at Westminster that will prepare me for challenges I will encounter as I become older. A big change in my life came during my senior year of high school. My junior year I was on varsity football, basketball, and tennis while starting on the football team while in getting important playing time in basketball coming off the bench. I was pretty successful and believed that my senior year I could be captain and be one of the go to guys on the team. After a successful spring season in tennis, the summer had started and football was only 3 months away. Everyone was starting to lift and run while I got lazy and just hung out and did nothing to improve my body or my mind for my pretty challenging course schedule my senior year. It was August 19, 2008 at 8am, the morning dew was over the football field while we stretched warmed up, I then noticed that my wasteful summer had come to an end. The first week of football I pulled my groin and missed the short preseason, my starting spot as tight end was filled by someone else and I was unfortunately stuck only playing defense. As the season reached the halfway point I took a bad angle toward a runner and dove and obtained a concussion. I missed the next 4 games and had to suffer taping the games. As the basketball season started I was also rusty without playing in a game since the first summer league game in late June. The first half of the season resulted in me not getting in 3 games and hardly getting any playing time. I asked the coach what was wrong and he said I did not have the skills for his style of play. Let’s say that those words lit a fire under my skin, I started to play with more passion and tenacity which showed my coach I had something that the team was lacking in some close losses. The last half of the season was our best ending compared to most teams and led us to a quarterfinal berth in the playoffs. The year didn’t pan
