What would life be like if touch screen technology was never invented? What if products such as the iPhone and iPad were never invented? When the co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, introduced the iPhone to the world, it revolutionized smartphones. Jobs helped to better develop modern technology with his inventions such as the iPhone and the iPad. If Jobs didn’t invent the iPhone, most phones today probably wouldn’t have a more technologically advanced touchscreen. Jobs’s inventions were ahead of time and that was the pathway to creating faster, more efficient technology. In 1973, Wozniak started the first, ‘dial a joke’ from a ‘Blue Box’ which allowed him to make free long distance calls. Jobs gave the idea to sell the ‘Blue box’ that Wozniak invented. It gave them the confidence to continue creating more things. When both Wozniak and Jobs decided to sell the Blue box, both had a separate obligations. Wozniak was the creator of the product and Jobs was in charge of getting people interested. The Blue box that Wozniak created and the fact that Jobs gave the idea of selling it, helped strengthen their relationship. Without the Blue box, Apple wouldn’t exist today. Indeed, Working out of a family garage, Wozniak and Jobs attempted to produce a user-friendly alternative to the computers being made at the time (Dag Spicer). This shows that after the Blue box, Wozniak and Jobs were confident enough when working together. Wozniak and Jobs both took a risk when leaving school to work together on creating computers. They had the right to do that but if their plan failed, it would be their responsibility to either find a job or go back to college. This was important in history because if both Jobs and Wozniak didn’t take the venture of making computers, they wouldn’t have been confident enough to create Apple. It foreshadowed both of them being successful when creating products.
