Some women suffer from eating disorders and, possibly, relationship problems. Almost all of the women who have an abortion suffer from guilt, depression, and flashbacks of the abortion. Only a few suffer from suicidal thoughts, sexual dysfunction, and alcohol and drug abuse. An abortion is a traumatic experience that influences most women in negative aspects. Some women carry this burden their whole lives and deal with regret, depression, and shame. Most women do not want to admit to their family, friends, or spouses about having an abortion. They feel ashamed and disgusted by their actions. According to surveys taken, 90% of women have emotions of regret and guilt after their abortion, but still feel that it was the correct decision (Culp-Ressler, 2012, Para 3).
Is abortion acceptable? Should abortion be acceptable? The answers to these questions lie with each and every person. According to the Washington Times, 47% of Americans are pro-life, while 46% of Americans are pro-choice (Chumley, 2013, Para 2). Abortion is a depressing reality of modern-day life.
