It is absolutely horrific to murder an innocent child who has not had a chance to live. There are nearly 1.1 million abortions in the United States each year; the U.S. abortion rate is the highest of all developed countries (Students for Life, 2015, Pg. 1). According to surveys taken, 90% of women have emotions of regret and guilt after their abortion, but still feel that it was the correct decision (Culp-Ressler, 2012, Para 3).
Is abortion acceptable? Should abortion be acceptable? The answers to these questions lie with each and every person. According to the Washington Times, 47% of Americans are pro-life, while 46% of Americans are pro-choice (Chumley, 2013, Para 2). Abortion is a depressing reality of modern-day life. And, yes, pregnancy is a difficult and cumbersome task, but is well worth it for a human life. If a woman does not desire to have children, she can give the baby up for adoption. There has been a long existing debate of “Pro-Life” versus “Pro-Choice” about whether or not women should be able to abort a child. Many people being Pro-Choice will use the argument that the fetus isn 't a living person, and rather that it is the woman’s body; therefore the woman’s choice. There are other options women have such as adoption: waiting until the baby is born and providing the child a well-suited family to properly care for them. I believe any way you can avoid aborting a child is better than abortion because you give the child a chance for life. An unborn child in the womb contains all of the characteristics for it to be considered living, proving abortion is morally and scientifically wrong.…
