Analysis Of The Instagram Survey

In relation to the respondents of this survey, the above pie chart shows that the majority of people were in the 18-24 age bracket with a gender of 88% women and 12% men. The occupations of the respondents had a vast spectrum, ranging from college students to industry professionals, few to name; a teacher, a childcare assistant, a fashion buyer, event planner, brand manager, security, tv production, advertising executive, a model and a makeup artist. When asked in question six do you use social media? 100% of respondents answered yes.

Instagram was the most popular app used by the respondents followed by the newly formed app Snapchat. 49.3% said they are active regularly, 46.7% said they are very active and 6.7% saying they are not very active on Instagram. When asked how many times a day would they use Instagram a majority of 86.7% said they would use Instagram consistently throughout the day, with 8% saying they would use it once a day and 5.3% saying …show more content…

They hate that they do not have the "kardashian" body image and they struggle to realise that these images are fake and altered. Instagram has a massive effect on their self confidence, and their perception of themselves as a person. They are being raised in a society that is telling them that they are not enough. They get increasingly upset when the topic is spoken about because their insecurities are centred around social media. It's really disheartening as an educator to have a class of beautiful intelligent and capable young women in front of you who do not know their worth and their value because society tells them they need to have so called "body
