The UN has put forth seventeen goals that they feel can be achieved by 2030. After

having success with the goals that they set for 2015, they deemed it necessary to attempt to

continue their success in aiding with the betterment of underdeveloped countries. Technology is

rapidly changing throughout the world every day. Whether it is a new cell phone being released

somewhere, or the less fortunate using the internet for the first time. No matter where a person

lives, technology has an impact in some way. One of the goals that the UN is putting forth is,

“build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster

innovation”(17 UN). Infrastructure, innovation, and industrialization are all backbones

For anyone to be successful, they tend to have had a successful education in the past.

Whether it was a high school diploma or a college degree, an education allows someone to

specialize in a field and put their expertise towards making their country successful. Through the

new technologies that are advancing daily, education can be provided to the poorer countries

putting them on the right path hopefully to success. Bill Gates stated, “Students in rural

communities have access to more educational resources than ever, thanks to teachers empowered

by tablet devices”(Gates, Bill and Melinda 21). With teachers in less fortunate countries having

the technologies that other countries have, they can now start to model their education after the

successful. Students now receiving a prominent education, they will be able to start moving

forward to higher levels of education. Hopefully, one day being able to hold a job which could

aid in the start of industrialization. Not only the technology will have to be innovative, but the

The internet can have a major impact on how

people’s lives are lived. Also, it can be an outlet for someone in need giving them a voice that

they never have had before. “Through those connections, Movements.org provides opportunities

to ease the suffering and amplify the voices of people who stand up to, or try to escape, the

world’s most oppressive regimes”(Crowdsourcing). Through organizations like the one above,

poorer people are now able to be heard. They have an outlet that can hopefully help them escape

the horrors that they endure everyday. Without the internet this would not be possible. There

would be no avenue of connection, which in the end may possibly help save a life. In the last

year alone major advances have been made; “nearly 10,000 connections between people

requesting assistance and those offering it”(Crowdsourcing). Those 10,000 people would never

have had a voice if it was for the advancement in technology and collaboration between groups

of people. They most likely would still be in a land where, they are no better than the dirt
