Is Technology Affecting Our Relationship?

Nowadays, most people lived a very different life with many different reality. We had our work reality, our family reality, our religious affiliation reality, our interest reality, our vacation reality, and many others. All of these reality represented different area and expect of your life. And we meet different people in each specific area. It becomes our social network. Many people technology to connect others. It is now an uncontested fact that technology is pervasive throughout our lives. But how do technology impacting our relationship?
According to the Nielsen survey published at 2014, the average American spends 11 hours on social media, and more than half of that time is spent looking at a smartphone or tablet. It is a huge amount of hours, and it shows that technology is pervasive throughout our lives. In my opinion, technology is benefiting us on relationship. Imagine, when you are on vacation with your wife or husband. But your wife/ husband always checking email by his phone and working by the pool. You must feel bad and distracted by their behavior. It brings negative impact on relationship. But is this technology’s fault? No! It is not, it is not the fault of technology. It is the fault of how we use it. We are able to control ourselves. For the solution of this situation, we can set specific guidelines around when we have to work and when to stop working. In other words, when we are on vacation, instead of working all the time, create the discipline to stop working on purpose. If we must stay connected to the internet, we can set a specific moment to work, for example thirty minutes before breakfast and thirty minutes before sleep and then remember to enjoy our
