One example of technology impacting our lives is the concept of halfalogue. “A halfalogue is hearing only half the conversation typical of cell phone calls by others that often produces irritation from outside listeners” (Rothwell 244). I strongly believe that halfalogues can really causes problems in our society today because they can be rude and disruptive. According to Sherry Turkle, “Our phones are not accessories, but psychologically potent devices that change not just what we do but who we are” (Turkle 2015). I strongly agree with Turkle that phones can change who we are and I feel like the concept of a halfalogue is an excellent example of that. For an example, if I heard another person talking on the phone while I was taking a test I would find that very rude and I might negatively judge that person, however they could be having a very important conversation.
