The literature review strongly suggested Tinder has a negative effect on the users self-esteem; however, the survey indicated the opposite. Furthermore, the literature review stated the majority of the apps users were not single, but the survey revealed that over 96% of participants were single. Finally, even though research indicated that Tinder users are not looking for a long term relationship, just entertainment, the survey indicated over 25% of individuals currently have friendships from Tinder, while over a quarter have experienced short term
