The modern era of social media has facilitated change in the business world. Social media are applications and tools that allow users to create, share, or exchange information, career interests, ideas, and pictures/videos on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. According to the 2010 United States Census, there are approximately 80 million millennials in the Unites States. The following analysis will discuss the impact of social media on millennials in America. Plus, how the influence of social media on a generation of millennials has affected they’re to connect.

Social networking site are becoming the new platform for millennials to receive the news. In fact, “How Millennials use and control social media” states 88% of millennials get their news from Facebook. Therefore, millennials are impacted in a major way from businesses that use social media to target market.
The business world is relying heavily on social media to target millennials. As stated by the article “Marketing to Millennials on Social Media?” millennials are projected to reach $1.4 trillion in annual spending by 2020. Many corporations are being suited for hiring millennials progressively in order to capitalize off this information.
