Mother nature, natives, disease, and exposure all played a part in the outcome of the voyages and caused major problems along the way. Sir Francis Drake’s voyage was set back a month due to problems that occurred to two of the five ships that were to be apart of the expedition. Nature took a lot from both crew including boats, food, and even men along the way of this voyage. One very unfortunate event that happened during Magellan’s time of circumnavigation his entire crew getting stuck in the middle of the Philippine war only leaving eighteen men alive to complete the voyage. Also on his voyage Magellan was shot and killed by the natives of and island and never actually got to finish his mission and return home while Francis Drake was able to make it home and be knighted by the queen. There were not many good things that came from but those that did come from the bravery of these men were astronomical extremely vital to the future exploration of the world seeing as how Sir Francis was able to compose a more accurate map of the world, they were both able to prove that the world was not flat and they both discovered new islands and Magellan even named the Pacific ocean.
