In today’s era, cellphones are not considered a want anymore; they are considered a necessity. No more are the days of asking if someone has a phone number because if you do not have a phone you are a rare breed. Everywhere you look, you see people attached to their phones as if it were another limb connected to their body. When walking down the street, people have their eyes glued to their phone not paying any attention to the world around them. While being out to dinner, families are not engaging in conversation but rather texting their friends or playing on apps. Phones making it easier for kids to cheat because they are small and compact that they are easy to keep hidden from the teacher. When cellphones were not around kids still cheated but they could only cheat with the knowledge their other classmates had. Now since all smartphones come with internet, kids can just google their question and find it in a matter of seconds. More than one-third of teens with cellphones admit to having stored information on them to look at during a test or texting friends about answers (Miners). Even though there have always been kids that have cheated, it is a lot easier now which can cause a lot of problems. The valedictorian in your class might not actually know as much as her GPA shows but now they are getting academic college scholarships for cheating. Young adults will graduate college with a degree they do not know anything about because they cheated their way through college. Doctors in the future will be pulling out their phones during an appointment to look up facts that they do not know making them not any more knowledgeable than anyone else that can look things up on their
