Media Decreasing Teenage Pregnancy
“More than 820,000 teenage girls become pregnant before the age of 18 in the United States” (Campbell, ). Teen pregnancy has always been an issue in the United States.It has decline 44% since 1991(Wind). Teenage pregnancy has decreased because of the increase in television, social media and news outlets. One reason is television programs like Sixteen & Pregnant or even Teen Moms. Another is social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. News outlets like CNN and NBC play part in teenage pregnancy rate decreasing. While many people idolize teen pregnancy through these mediums, they do not cause the rate to increase.

According to Werley, social media platforms could decrease the teen pregnancy rates. The rate is slowing going down by the year which is a good thing. Facebook is mainly use for staying in contact with friends or family member, but local community use it for more than that . The group decide to reach with information through Facebook. They use it for awareness. Facebook and Twitter can be effective because they allow people to engage in dialogue and help organizations connect with their followers (Werley). Social media can be use in a good way. Social media allows teen to reach out to other teens, and tell other people things teenage pregnancy prevention (Mirshak). Most people thought teen mom was pointless, but it was not at all. Want to thank the teen mom cast for the decreasing pregnancy (Werley). Youth leadership are normally started off in a community or a church to get together and spend awareness to a certain topic. A youth leadership council started a thing called we are Change and put it on Facebook and Twitter (Mirshak). They thought it was the best way to get this information out there to their fellow teens. Most people hates quiz, most of the time quizzes are normally long but not this one. This has a quiz that test the knowledge of safe-sex methods. Society actually benefits from social media in the way , whether they like or not . The media has come a long way in
