The Impact Of Illegal Immigrants on American Soil
On July 21 2014 Governor Rick Perry of Texas declared that he was deploying 1,000 National Guard troops to the Mexican border to prevent the flow of illegal immigration coming into the United States. I believe this action was to little and too late. How is illegal immigration affecting the United States? Illegal immigration has its negatives of economic effects but not as many. Skilled native born workers have the decision of either accepting lower pay or not working at all. There's a positive impact on everyone else, though. 2,000 miles away from Texas an economist of the University of California, Davis, has researched an order of effective papers comparing the labor systems in states with high immigration populations to the ones with low population of immigrants. There are four reasons why these congressmen oppose immigration. These reasons are undocumented immigrants don't pay taxes, immigrants weaken the welfare system, they lower the wages of native-born workers, and undocumented workers are stealing American jobs. An example of immigration could be America could be seen as a huge cruise ship with an all you can eat buffet(money). The passengers (with tickets) are considered as U.S. citizens.
