He was there until about one o’clock in the morning and eventually ended up leaving and tried not to be too loud to make it obvious he was drunk. Holden talks about how when he was at the bar he started to think that there was a bullet in his gut and held his hand under his jacket pretending there was a wound he was stopping from bleeding. While being drunk may cause people to do stupid things it seems like Holden acts differently than most people when drunk. He pretends that he is in a movie is over dramatic, thinking that his life is like a movie. Being over dramatic causes Holden to think about how bad his life is and how he doesn’t want to face reality and just pretend to make everything better. He acts as if he was in an action movie and that one punch was going to kill him. At this point, Holden has mixed emotions and even thinks about jumping out the window and committing suicide, but he ends up just trying to go to sleep.
