However, as team members learn to interact with each other despite their different backgrounds, performance differences should disappear (Dafoulas and Macaulay (2001)). Organizations employing a diverse workforce can supply a greater variety of solutions to problems in service, sourcing, and allocation of resources. Employees from diverse backgrounds bring individual talents and experiences in suggesting ideas that are flexible in adapting to fluctuating markets and customer demands. The initial advantage of homogeneous teams is temporary only in newly created teams. Team Performance Management “was also a piece that caught my interest. This entry is about the security industry and how it is one of very few industries that actually use diverse teams for operational purposes. It helps inform the reader about the impact of cultural diversity on work team performance by focusing on the different diversities and teams, reflecting the results as captured in a study on operational work teams in the industry. In order to obtain the results of the study, a structured questionnaire, aimed at capturing the responses of team members regarding their team leaders, was circulated (Kokt p. 80). The purpose of the study conducted was to find the potential problems that might exist when individuals from different diversities got together. After results and figures were gathered, it was determined that there were no major issues that existed but did highlight the importance of the role the leader actually plays.
