Heinrich Schliemann was a German adventurer who visited the place that is known to be the city of troy in 1870. while he was there he discovered things that brought up new questions about Troy’s existence. Schliemann found artifacts such as jewelry and stones that were talked about in Homers epic. His biggest discovery was the 9 cities that he found while exploring the site. The nine cities are all placed on top of one another. In the middle of the city he found what is known the be a citadel, and surrounding the city is a large wall. He went through all the cities and found what might be jewels that belonged to Helen the wife of Menelaus.
Another theory that has come about over the years is that there have been many different battle between the cities throughout its history. This theory believes that there was more than 1 battle occurring at this time, but that the many battles are believed to have taken place over a period of about 200 years. Besides all the different theories and ideas about the Trojan war, most of the evidence shows that the famous battle was fought over the queen Helen.
There can be different inferences made with different evidence but the Trojan war was most likely a real event and did occur at some point in history. There
