Working in the human service field will be greatly impacted by the ideology perspective. My worldview, beliefs, past experiences, and attitudes may impact the work that I do because I feel that I will be faced to make difficult decisions about a client, in which I will need to consider the definition of need. The perspective that may be mostly used is the Ideology of Need, with the aspect about liberalism and need for care. There is always a reason why someone reaches out to human service agencies. That is simply because the need for care. The book describes care as “essential as the air we breathe and a universal aspect to human life”. I experience these examples daily at both of my jobs. For instance, directing a parent to the nearest food pantry so they can provide food to their family and setting up a family with resources to assist with housing expenses; all in which bracket under
