The show Six Million Dollar Man, episode “The Bionic Woman” in 1975 showed a great display of feminine identity closer to its modern state. The scene where we are introduced to the main female character, Jaime, who is shown as beautiful, confidant and very competitive. When Steve talks to her about how he heard she was one of the top 10 professional tennis players, she prideful corrects him and says “Top 5”. She shows her masculine side by wears bell-bottom pants, never refusing a challenge, and even telling Oscar the director of the office of scientist Intelligence to not worry about her versus Steve. Jaime is still however possesses some feminine traits. She tells Steve how she would like to get married after them dating for a while. Steve tells her that he needs to be the one who asks her not the other way around. This shows how even though Jaime is more of a strong feminist, there are still things that only a man can dominate. Jaime’s character in Six Million Dollar Man, shows how females can have the ultimate power, have intelligence, and shows masculine characteristics in a way where woman can have a powerful role in society.
