While looking at the INTASC standards I choose to look at five and give brief summaries about each standard and how it helps us prepare as teachers. Standard one, would of course be about learner’s development in students. Typically what it talks about is how we focus on how many of these learners grow and ultimately develop. We have to be prepared to know several strategies and really the process that students incorporate to absorb information. Also we have to asses our student’s individual capability and as well observe them in groups. As a teacher we must also work with others such as families, neighborhoods, colleagues and other educators across to promote the growth and development of students.

It really tells me that there is much work to do when it comes to me becoming a good educator. Of course we cannot expect to know everything when we begin as educators, but what we can do is learn and acquire these strategies by reading and attending workshops. We have to be active in using our resources and really using the people around us to help us become better educators. My preparation though, is really connected to much of these standards since, most of what we are learning is exactly what most of these accredited agencies want teachers to be prepared for. I never really view teaching as being a profession where there we different ways to engage with students, but now it is incredibly amazing to learn the different ways we can interact with one …show more content…
Although, both are completely different, it shows that there are different ways to engage with people. These standards are great guides for us teachers to really help students grow and develop because it helps not just acquire knowledge by just reading a book, but by also gaining knowledge using skills such as social interaction and critical thinking. Watching my father who is a teacher also taught me that there are different ways of teaching students and much of what he talked about is the same thing much of these standards ask for a teacher to be prepared for when becoming an educator.
