Although ICD is used globally, ICD coincides with the DSM for billing purposes to demonstrate evidence of a diagnosis to insurance companies. Furthermore, the ICD and the DSM have been revised many times in order to enhance validity and communication. The ICD codes are used through various health care providers, but the reimbursement depends on time and location. Nicholls and Arcelus (2010) demonstrate that classification system consists of ICD-10 diagnosis coding system. Also, Möller (2010) depicts the changes conceptualizing in the ICD and DSM criteria for schizophrenia and affective symptoms.
