The hypothesis for Experiment A was that each bacterium that was observed in this experiment possesses different characteristics, such as, different sizes, color, shapes, and even purposes. The reasons for this hypothesis is because, as the bacterium were being observed, it was recorded how one is uniquely different than the other. Each structure allows the bacterium to carry out different functions. However, some bacteria may occur more than once, or have a trait in common relating to another bacterium. Additionally, under a microscope, each bacterium tested either positive or negative with a gram stain test. As shown in Table 1, of Experiment A, the Staphylococcus Aureus consisted of a perfect circle shape, it had tested positive for the gram-stain test which meant that the stain of the bacterial cells was purple, and the peptidoglycan cell walls were thick. Furthermore, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa tested gram negative which places it with a thin peptidoglycan cell wall. This type of bacteria possesses a rod-like shape with a medium sized irregular shape. Also, the bacteria E. Coli are collectively found in large clumps with a rod shape. E. Coli tested negative for gram staining, which is the same as Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, where it possesses a thin …show more content…
It is shown in Table 2, that each bacteria and fungi had different agar cultures. Each plate differed in its number and diversity of the colonies. For instance, the soil sample consists of a variety of punctiform that prove bacteria grows better in moist, warm environments, as the soil is underground. Furthermore, the other samples that are found in environments where it isn't harsh, such as air, possesses less punctiform than the others.
