The Hunger Games in one of the bestselling books and movies out there and there is no secret that The Hunger Games tosses around some very serious moral and ethical issues. For a quick explication about the Hunger games for people that may not know much about it is I think quite interesting. So, it is takes place in a time that their government is at a weak point and the rebellion of not wanting the Games gets out of hand. The main leader is Katniss Everdeen and she is the face of the rebellion, also known as the mocking jay and the favorite Girl on Fire. The movie and the book make many people ask the question of if you were in this situation the same as Katniss, what would you do? Also thought it would depends on what type of ethical theory …show more content…
While Katniss became the reluctant fighter rather then the ruthless killer, the rules endure that only one of the twenty- six tributes can live and survive the Hunger Games. The big question that keeps people wondering during the book and part of the first movie in the series is whether or not Katniss will be able to sacrifice Peeta so she may survive to go back home to her sister. Going through the Hunger Games Katniss and Peeta get closer through out and then the moral dilemma changes. The moral dilemma changes to whether or not Katniss will force to sacrifice herself to save Peeta from dying or he having to kill one-person aka Peeta to be able to go back to her sister, that she loves. The problem in this case is whether or not to self- sacrifice or to self- protect to survive the hunger games. The question that most people think during the book and movie is, is it better to give up ones life to help save the other tribute from your district or from another one, or to defend yourself to be able to live? If you have read or even watched the movie you will know how Katniss and Peeta out think the government and head game maker and rebelliously reject to die. Yet the question still comes up, what you do, given the situation the same as Katniss? Also is the survival of the games more important than doing the wrongdoing of killing someone or
