The Hunger Games: Comparing The Book And Movie

I choose The Hunger Games for this project. I choose The Hunger Games because it was one of the few books I liked even though I was forced to read it. The time I was reading it the movie wasn't out yet so I had to read the book first. After reading the book, the movie came out soon after. When I went to watch the movie the people I was expecting were not the same in the movie as I expected. The characters didn't look the same as I pictured them; For example how odd they dressed in the capitol. Some of them acted the way I thought but not all of them Like Peeta and Rue. Another thing that was different was the settings of the story. They only thing that was close to what I pictured while reading was the way the capitol looked(excluding clothing). The last major difference was some of the left out parts in the book to movie translation.
To start comparing the differences let's start with how the characters looked. How they were seen in my mind vs. how they were played in the movie . The main characters was Katniss and Peeta. Peeta in the book sounded like he was a little more social than shown in the movie. In the book he spoke a lot more to katniss and everyone else from his district. In the movie he was way more quiet. He was supposed to be best friends with Katniss in the book. In the movie he barely spoke to her from the time they were

Two of the biggest thing for me was how the people in the capitol looked and how the characters looked. Especially The main character peeta. I felt he should of been switched out with katniss's friend Gale. That is all that was more different than expected when reading and

A few important character connections and details were in the book that were left out in the movie. In the book, for example, Kim and Mia’s relationship wasn’t as detailed in the movie. It didn’t show their fight like it did in the book and all of their childhood between the two seemed to be missing from the movie. Mia and Kim had some important things that occurred in their childhood which I thought was important and should have been included in the movie. Her grandparents also weren’t in the movie as much as they were in the book.…
