Have you seen The Hunger Games before? Or even read it before? In my English class, we have read the book first and then we watched the movie. We were asked to take notes during the movie and write down the differences between the movie and the book. We found a lot of differences but we weren't surprised because all the movies are different from their books. The movie was about a dystopian country that was ruled by the capitol and President Snow. The country had twelve districts, the districts are very different from the capitol. The capitol had a lot of money and food, the people in the capitol dressed really fancy, a lot of makeup, and some weird hairstyles. Since the fence in district twelve was not electrified, Katniss and Gale used to go over the fence so they can hunt for food and bring it home to feed their families. Ever since Katnissś dad died, she became the caretaker of the family, she was responsible of taking care of her sister Prim and her mother. The reason why her mother couldn not take care of them after their fatherś dead was because she was very depressed, she couldn't interact with people , not even her daughters. The first difference I noticed about the movie from the book was how the movie started, and how the book started. The movie started by showing us Julius Caesar talking to the gamemakers about the hunger games and how this year it’s going to be harder than last year. In the book, they talked about how Gale and Katniss were crossing the electrified fence and trying to hunt. The second difference was the mockingjay pin. How they showed us in the movie was different from the book. In the movie Katniss bought the pink from an old lady from the hob, which was the black market they had in district twelve, and kept it. In the book she got it from Madge, the mayor’s daughter. As a gift for her before leaving, and every district gets a token as a reminder of
