In life there is no escape from developing relationships with people. The relationship can be a solid friendship or a relationship built on hatred. In The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins, the relationship between two characters has flourished and stood out from the rest. The relationship is between the main character Katniss, and Peeta. Katniss is brave, smart, resourceful, caring, and a risk taker. Peeta is sweet, sensitive, smooth-talking, and faithful. Due to his background and character, he has the desire and tendency to seek and fulfill his objective by using his full potential and while he knows that he may not be able to change the world, he is able to hope for a future in the world that exists.
Peeta gets caught up in a love triangle as Katniss becomes more aware about Peeta 's feelings for her. This leads Katniss in a struggle as she experiences confusion and uncertainty throughout the series while finding more clarity in Peeta’s actions and motivations. In the series, these two characters have been through a great deal together and therefore, have found comfort in each other. Their relationship was built on their harsh experiences.
Throughout the games, Peeta protects Katniss and looks out for her in ways that she is not able to repay. While Peeta does these things because he cares for Katniss as well as for other reasons, it places Katniss in an uncomfortable position that makes her feel as though she is in debt to Peeta, regardless of the source of his…
