Katniss’s sole purpose at the beginning was to take care of her younger sister Prim. However, even though Katniss become the face of the rebellion among the districts and the capital she still has the purpose to take care of her sister. As the story progresses Katniss is not just the girl from District 12 she is the symbol of hope for the district. The girl that would defy the capitol in secret turned into a girl who would defy the capitol in the open by refusing to kill Peeta in The Hunger Games. Although, Peeta started out very shy and timid but, overtime develops into a very passionate person, Peeta even reveals his true feelings about Katniss. Although, Peeta really had feelings for Katniss he tries to play it off as a way of protecting her through the duration of The Hunger Games.
