HBOT is a medical treatment which enhances the body's natural healing process by the inhalation of 100% oxygen in a total body chamber where atmospheric pressure is increased. Veterans are referred to the program by the VA and other community partners. The Hugs Project conducts an entry interview to determine if a veteran qualifies. Once qualified, veterans are referred to Jenks Health Team where initial testing begins. QEEGs (pre and post brain scan) are administered. This test measures deficits and progress in brain function. Beginning in 2017, qEEGs will be administered as part of the HBOT total treatment. The qEEG and questionnaires help the program report and identify improvement by using medical measures and patient feedback.
