World War I began with the assassination of Franz Ferdinand who was the archduke of Austria-Hungary (History.com, 2009). Following the assassination, there were many events after that made World War I continue. These events included Austria-Hungary declaring war on Serbia, Turkey and Germany signing a secret treaty of alliance, Germany declaring war on France and also invading Belgium which lead Britain to declare war on Germany, and Austria-Hungary invading Russia (History.com, 2009). The German’s would not have been forced to take responsibility if World War I would have not existed. Events prior to the Holocaust must be prevented in order for events like the Holocaust to be non existent. To prevent wars, such as World War I, countries needed to start sharing resources.
