That fact alone should be enough to make people stop/not start smoking, but sadly it’s not. Smoking causes insurance rates to increase because of smokers, and the nonsmokers are getting mad about it. To be completely honest, I’d be mad too, but instead of just getting mad about it, we should do something to stop people from smoking. Many people say it’s their own fault, and I completely agree, but even though it’s their fault, we should take action instead of complaining. I don’t think that people who don’t smoke should have to pay the price for the people who do smoke. I think smokers should have to tell their insurance company if they smoke. If the person smokes, I think they should have to pay an extra fee on their bills from their insurance company. If the person stops smoking, they can stop paying the fee but only if proof is provided that they’ve quit. Also I think the price of cigarettes should be raised. Basically the key to stop smoking is money. Once people realize how much money they spend on cigarettes and fees for smoking, it’ll probably make them more intrigued to quit. Although this won’t stop 100% of smoking, and there are other solutions, I think this is the best way to solve the
