Thomas House
Today, if we see a homeless on the street, it isn 't strange anymore. In fact, in America 2013, 610,042 people were experiencing homelessness (The State of Homelessness, 2014); as the result, we can see a significant number through that report. Moreover, because the amount of homeless is too much, many charities have been established to be able to help the homelessness. According to me, one of the charities that I appreciate is Thomas House which is an Orange County non-profit organization for homeless because it not only provides a safe shelter but also supports the resources necessary for homeless families and children while empowering them to become independent and self-sufficient.
For over many years, Thomas house is one of the most successful shelters to establish a safe and stable future for homeless people in Orange County; it helps to solve the homeless family problems as well. The length of stay in Thomas house is now approximately nine to twelve months (Thomas House Family Shelter, 2015). Although they are strange people, I 'm sure people can recall having a bad day or feeling unhappy. Due to that, Thomas House is one of the good choices for people to help homeless because homeless people or families can find not only a safe shelter but also happiness in their lives. Moreover, I urge to do this activity to make a chance to break the cycle of homeless people. If everyone has seen countless the images of the unfortunate people, families, and unprivileged children in the media, or the homelessness affects our society in the wide range of violence, physical and mental health problems and developmental difficulties. Everyone can make a difference and can build a better future for our
