There are many homeless people all over the world, many think that that it doesn't exist in their town or their cities but it does it occurs everywhere there are about 3.5 million people who are homeless in America . There are many ways a person can end homeless, a person can lose everything by giving it all to games and drugs, another way is for a person to not be able to find a job because of their education and people also lost everything because of a tragic event that occurs to their love. One which can lead to depression and from there to homeless. What caused Liz to become homeless was that both her parents became drug addicts and she then lost her mother which was the one that was still holding her well basically she was the one holding …show more content…
What I also do is when it is cold I get them a sweater or a blanket mostly since it is very cold now in the night and morning. These are the types of actions that I take to help the homeless as of now, but when I am older I want to travel and help other homeless people and also to create a center in small towns where they can get some education. My final thoughts about the movie are that it was a great movie, it really motivates people because someone may go through the same thing or through worse things but it motivates because she faced a hard life for a while and she got through it. She was able to get into Harvard and she also got a job at New York's Times. I believe being homeless is really bad not just because you suffer from hungriness but also because people got to this point because of a tragic event or a bad decision everyone should get a second chance in life and yes I know that some chose not to but sometimes they chose it because they see that people don't believe in them and also because they don't give them a chance. The government should do more things than it has, for example, they should give them health care like create a free physical van where they can go and get check up. The most shocking thing for me was when Liz mother didn't realize how she was harming them even after she was cleaned and she wanted to go back to

An logical claim is made when the mother compares to a Hollywood movie “Trading places” as “lovable rogues” to reality of the homeless as often “suffering” or have a “addiction,” which they may be as many don’t have the money to help them to go to an retreat or rehab; therefore they find themselves either on the street on a shelter to seek for help but on the other hand, many homeless people caused themselves to get into that situation due to those “addictions” and if help was given they could carry on their addictions and continue the vicious…

My interpretation of homelessness is, homelessness is a problem faced by people who lack a secure and affordable place over their head. Throughout the sessions I gradually learnt more about people suffering due to homelessness and what they did on a day to day basis. We read the poem ‘Hungerford Bridge’ - written by Katie Campbell, to help us understand the stereotypes that are used against homeless people and how the stereotypes contribute to the attitude towards the homeless society. In one session we had to explore the higher class people 's attitude towards the homelessness people.…

One cold night in late January, volunteers counted 2659 homeless people in the Sacramento County. Many were found sleeping on the sidewalks, near parks, and even along rivers (Hubert). Homelessness has become normal in America because it is always seen as the effect of individual choices. Because of this, many fear and re-categorize (putting them in a different social class) the homeless. In Sacramento, statistics show that nearly 65% of veterans make up the homeless population.…

Most people believe that homelessness is the effect of unintelligence, addiction, or lack of hard work. However, The Glass Castle, written by Jeanette Walls, provides a new outlook on homeless stereotypes. Suggesting that homelessness can sometimes be a choice, a character in the novel says, “I think that maybe sometimes people get the lives they want” (Walls 256). The Glass Castle resonates with me because of it’s theme, ability to change the reader’s thinking, and the story’s parallels to my own life. There are many themes throughout The Glass Castle but two are extremely significant, self-sufficiency and forgiveness.…

For many years, society has looked down upon the homeless because of their social status. People have been given the notion that the homeless are in the situation that they’re in because of many taboos that society looks down upon like alcohol, drugs, and gambling. People should be showing the homeless compassion and offer help, instead are met with mean actions and awful words towards their way of life. Not all homeless people are in their situation because of addictions. There are a great number of homeless people out there who are veterans that struggle with mental disorders that they received from past wars, such as PTSD, that do not allow them to live a normal life.…
