Our military is the greatest and strongest, in the world. These individuals cannot match us on the battle field and we have repeatedly beaten them over the last few years. We still struggle to stop them though because every time we take out one commander, others take his place and pick up where he left off. Our government has not always made the right choices with the way we fight this war and it has probably been drawn out more than needed. There is no more important function that a government can provide for its people than safety and security (Homeland Security, 2014). The Department of Homeland Security was established to beef up our homeland defense and be the lead in directing the agencies working within our borders. This is not an easy task and it is getting more difficult every time we have a new tragedy. distinctions between homeland defense and homeland security does not mean that the two concepts are mutually exclusive; rather, they both function to accomplish the same goal, the continued security of the United States (Noftsinger, Newbold, Wheeler, 2006). With all the federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial agencies working together, we are still spread thin. We may not always hear about threats around …show more content…
We must properly vote and put the right people in office that can make the tough decisions. Our government must not fight amongst itself, but must turn the fight to our enemies. We must adopt laws and pass regulations that untie the hand s of our law enforcement, giving the all the tools needed to keep us safe and stop these terrorist acts. We must be ready to swiftly take action, once we catch a terrorist, and make sure they pay the ultimate price if found guilty. We need to strip them of their American citizenship, if they have it, and not offer them any of the freedoms our citizens
