Holy Spirit Research Paper Who is the Holy Spirit? This question has been asked throughout history for centuries, although no one can truly answer this question in truth. We can use the Bible to uncover and be able to answer such a great question. Through reading the bible all these years I have found that I can answer the question to the best of my abilities with the tools given to use in scripture. The Holy Spirit is the power of our lord in action his active force one might call it. The activities of the Holy Spirit are vast and numerous the Holy Spirit has proven in scripture in the Bible the Holy Spirit has many roles on the Earth. The Holy Spirit role in the earth is different depending on what task God is set out to accomplish, the Holy Spirit has used prophets to spread his word and to give out his word 2 Peter 1:21 “for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” The Holy Spirit 's role on the earth is to protect and to relay the message or the word of God down to those who will listen and accept. In Genesis 3:5 “Then the lord said, ‘My spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh: nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty.” the Holy Spirit shows that he will protect and stay with mankind for the duration of their life time showing that his role on Earth is to protect. The Holy Spirit role in the church is stated perfectly in John 14:25-16:4 “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” so if even the twelve disciples of the lord needed the the Holy Spirit to remind them of them of the teaching of the Jesus then it is pretty easy to understand the role of …show more content…
John 16:12-14 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.” The church must not forget the the Holy Spirit is there to teach, and guide us using his words and that the church does not use his words to satisfy their own agendas. The role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer is that the Holy Spirit has saved us in Titus 3:5 it states ‘He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness but according to his mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit “ so the Holy Spirit has saved do to his kindness. The Holy Spirit also has united us all of the in 1 Corinthians 12:13, “For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit .” the Holy Spirit unite all believers under his body no matter what the who they are as long as the are believers the Holy Spirit
