I was at a point where I NEEDED to find God more than ever, because I had finally realized that I just couldn 't do it anymore.
I finally broke down and opened up this book that belonged to my grandmother. It was called the Holy Bible, and inside of the pages I could barely keep my eyes open to read what seemed like gibberish at first, but I skipped past all of it and went to chapters that I could pronounce. Matthew was the first, and then I read Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, Corinthians...and so on until I had a complete understanding of what was going on in the Old Testament that led up to those books in the bible, and then it was easy and actually interesting and incredibly

There are many stories told in my family. Anyone and everyone told them, some nights it would be my mom and other nights it would be my grandpa. There would always be two stories read; the first one would be from a book called “My Book of Bible Stories”. This book has so many pictures asks questions has descriptive words and is still one of my favorite books. After that story whoever was telling the story would make up a silly story usually about a blue or green man with a giraffe that went traveling and exploring (I have no clue why).…

My worldview closely resembles the Biblical Worldview described in the Charry text, but by no means is anywhere near where it could be. My Christian character will continue to develop and mature throughout my life as I continue to study the scriptures, commune with God in prayer, continually ask for repentance, and forgiving those who have showed transgressions toward me. L. Gregory Jones states, “Christian living requires a willingness to inquire after the God of Jesus Christ, an inquiry which shapes us a people of repentance and forgiveness” (Charry, 2000, p. 204). Repentance and forgiveness are two aspects of the Christian walk that I struggle with. There are many times that I get so busy with life that I forget to prayerfully repent…

At a young age, I was a good God-fearing Christian lad who prayed every night and went with my grandmother to church because my parents either worked or were too exhausted to go. As time went on, though, Greek Orthodox Church became less of a priority. Even my grandmother stopped going often, only on holidays. In teenage years, my mind became engulfed by science, girls, and making sure my hair looked alright. We moved away, no Orthodox Church within ~500 miles became my excuse for skipping the Sunday sessions, so God faded from my mind.…
