Islam is a religion that was founded in the year 620 AD in the city of Mecca, in Saudi Arabia, by a man named Muhammed. JW Christianity (the beliefs followed by Jehovah’s Witnesses) is a denomination of Christianity that people began studying in the 1870s in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was founded by a man named Charles Taze Russell. While they may seem very different, they are actually similar in specific ways. The holy book of Islam is called the Qur’an. In the Qur’an, it is said that all of the beliefs in Islam originated when a man named Muhammed was confronted by the angel Gabriel, who detailed a new belief system. After this event, Islam was founded, and began rapidly spreading throughout the Middle East and North Africa. JW Christianity uses a translation of the Bible called the New World Translation, which is believed to be closer to the original Greek rendering of the Bible than other translations. Both religions believe that what is stated in their holy books are completely true, and must be followed. -Muslims and JW Christians both gather in religious buildings that bear a different name than churches. Muslims gather in mosques, while JW Christians gather in Kingdom Halls. Muslims believe that the city where their religion was founded, Mecca, is holy. JW Christians do not have any holy places. Likewise, Islam has many festivals and holidays, including Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr. Unlike most other religions, JW Christians do not have any festivals or holidays…
