Often time’s mothers and daughters formed strong bonds during the war and were perceived as a “glorification” for having each other. During the Holocaust some mother often protected their daughters, and this was seen as a strength that pushed them to survive. Women were portrayed as the protectors of their daughters due to the fact that many times they would give their portion of food to their daughter in order to insure their child’s survival. As the author Person mentions, “…the discussions of motherhood or sisterhood between women in camps, … often led to what could be perceived as a glorification of the motif of womanly strength in the face of persecution”
